Created and Directed by Brandon Ballard, the pilot episode of "City of Weed" is now in full swing. Ballard, owner of Redding Buzz and Luminwood, brings his Hollywood experience and passion for Northern California to this distinctive comedy series.
Produced by Jeremy Flinn, owner of one of the region's largest production houses, 22nd Avenue, we're crafting a genuine reflection of our vibrant community on screen.
In Collaboration with Weed's actual City Manager, Tim Rundel, we're adding a dash of real-life charm and authenticity to our story, celebrating the quirks that make Northern California uniquely special.

Nestled in the heart of Northern California, Weed boasts a rich history and character that cannot be replicated on a soundstage. Its unique name, rather than being a nod to cannabis as one might guess, hails from the town's founder, Abner Weed, who established a successful lumber mill here in 1901.
Far from shying away from their pun-rich namesake, the local souvenir shops and cannabis companies embrace the humor with delight, adding an extra layer of charm to this picturesque mountain town. Our series captures the essence of Weed, CA, and other Northern California locations, celebrating their rich history and unique quirks in every scene.
